Ankle dorsiflexion problems
Hello all
Im a 6 foot 1, 17 years old male (with really long arms and legs proportional to my height), who started doing crossfit (and squat a whole lot) 9 months ago. Ever since i started i had flexibillity issues and have had problems reaching parallel. I dont have much flexibility problems in my hips, quads, or anywhere else, the only place i have flexibillity issues at are my ankels, with dorsiflexion. Ever since I started and saw I'm having a hard time squating, I started doing a lot of mobillity work, almost every day. My general flexibility got better, so i'm reaching parellel easier, but my ankles are still really really really tight, even though i mainly focused on increasing their mobility for the last 9 months, and tried every thing i could find on the internet or my couch told me to try.
After 9 months of mobillity i'm still having a hard time squating to parellel, even when doing just some body weight squats, and i squat with a relatively wide stance.
I have always had ankle mobility problems, even when i was 5 years old i remember seeing all my friends squating down with heels on the ground and i have always had to be on my toes.
I will be so much grateful if someone could help me with this problem, this is the thing that limits me the most out of all my weak points.
Thanks for all the helpers!

AC Joint injury and training
Hey guys, I recently injured my shoulder wrestling, and after a week of pain I went to the doctor. He said it was an AC joint injury and it needed time to heal. He said it should be good in 6 weeks. Currently all I can do at the gym is leg press, curls, tri extensions, and some light side raised and front raises the doctor told me to do. Have any of you ever had this type of injury? And if so how did you train while you were hurt? I am currently losing my mind not being able to train and feeling like I am losing strength. Thanks guys!

Advice: Is my routine ok?
I have been weight training for about a year, but never with an actual routine and never consistently. I want to get on a routine and stick with it. I came across the fitmole ultimate upper lower split (the 3xweek version) (http://ift.tt/2kNhjTE) and want to add a couple additional body weight exercises to it. The reason I want to do a 3X routine is that I am very active and want my body and joints to have additional time to recover.
I am posting the routine I will be doing below. Please let me know your thoughts and any suggestions. Thanks!
About me: 28 years old, 5'6" 160lbs, thin but with some natural bulk in chest and midsection (always even when in peak shape at 18), waist is 32 for pants sitting low and 34 for pants sitting high on waist, narrow shoulders, and skinny arms and elbows
Goals: 1) lean mass 2)strength 3) overall fitness
TLDR: What are you thoughts on the below routine:
Routine: Week 1 M: Upper Body A W: Lowe Body A F: Upper Body B
Week 2: M: Lower Body B W: Upper Body A F: Lower Body A -- Continue on in this pattern. On off days I will be doing outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, or golf.
Upper Body A: 1) Incline Bench 4x4-6 2) Dips 3x10-15 (will add weights once I get stronger) 3) Barbell Row 4x6-8 4) Arnold Press 3x6-8 5) Chin up 3x10-15 (will add weights once I get stronger) 6) Underhand Inverted Row 3x10-15 7) Overhead Triceps Extension 3x6-8 8) Barbell Curl 3x6-8
Upper Body B: 1) Overhead Press 4x4-6 2) Pull up 3x10-15 (will add weights once I get stronger) 3) Overhand inverted Row 3x10-15 4) Dumbbell Press 3x6-8 5) Push up 3x10-15 (will progress to more difficult variations) 6) 1 Arm Row 3x6-8 7) Lying Triceps Dumbbell Extensions 3x8-10 8) Hammer Curl 3x8-10
Lower Body A: 1) Front Squat 4x4 2) Lunges 3x6-8 3) 45 Degree Back Extensions 3x6-8 4) Standing Calf Raises 3x8-10 5) Hanging Leg Raises 3x8-10 6) Additional Ab Exercise or Plank 3x8-10 or 30-60 Seconds
Lower Body B: 1) Dead Lift 4x4-6 2) Step Up 3x6-8 3) Good Mornings 3x8-10 4) Calf Raises 3x8-10 5) Cable Crunches 3x8-10 6) Additional Ab Exercise or Plank 3x8-10 or 30-60 Seconds

How to Gain Muscle and a 6-pack
Ok so I am 14 years old and about 5 feet 6 inches. Currently I work out 4 times a week, and in those workouts I lift weights, and run. Mostly doing simple things in weight training like Deadlifts, Bench Press, Sqaut, Over Head Press, and so on. So I'm just wondering how would I gain lean muscle while thinning out to a low yet healthy body percentage that I'm happy with. Btw right now I eat 1,800 calories a day. I realize that is very little but from what I read you need a deficit to get a six pack, and that's why I cut my calories down. But at the same time I want to make sure I'm doing this healthy and not fucking up my body.

Improve my bench?
Hi guys I'm looking to improve my bench stats.
At the moment my 1MR is 85kg on flat bench and I'm training 3 days a week (full body). I would like to bench 100 kg for 3-5 reps in the next few months.
Any suggestions on how I can improve my numbers? I tend to vary my rep ranges every workout 3x10, 4x6, 5x5 etc and change the weight accordingly. I also do a lot of volume on chest and tricep work with various exercises such as incline dumbbell press, cable crossover, skull crushers etc.

EMSK: after watching the video of the congressional shooting today, EMSK about the psychological phenomenon known as the "Bystander Effect"...
Watching the video of the shooting that happened today, the man filming the video with his cellphone was asked if he called 911 and he responded "I assume people have been calling 911 already".... now, while the bystander effect didn't necessarily happen here, this is what makes the bystander effect, the bystander effect.
I'm no psychologist, or an expert on this, but I just wanted to put it out there and tell you all... if you see something that should be called in to first responders, don't hesitate and don't assume someone else called it in.... make the call.
New to lifting, is this guy's form good ? I am considering taking personal training with him. And how did you learn to lift ?
Hello, I am 23 Male with no proper prior weight lifting experience . I am not confident enough to learn to deadlift , squat , overhead press and bench press by watching videos online. I want to follow jim wendlers 5/3/1 program and so i want to learn these basic lifts :) I have heard as a beginner sticking to a program is good and I think i can stick to this program. As I have no experience lifting weights , I don't know if the guy in the gym close to my home is going to teach proper technique.
I have found a person who offers personal training , as far as i know he has done crossfit from UK and he is a crossfit coach . I would like to know if this guy's lifting form good ?(Have heard horror stories regarding crossfit and form) I just want to learn the 4 basic lifts. Links provided below :)
Here he is doing deadlifts in beginning of video with light weights:-
Here he is doing squats and bench press :-
Again squat , but he is doing near his maximal i think:-
I live in Pakistan , so facilities here are not like what they are in West or China or rest of the world :D
And how did you guys learn to lift ? Has anyone of you learned to lift weights by just watching videos and come a long way without getting injured ?
TLDR : Considering a person for personal coaching, is his form good , links provided and how did you learn to lift and did you stay injury free ? :)
Sorry for my English it's not my native language. Thanks in advance.

EMSKR: How to delay gratification.
I realized a while ago that there are many things I am awful at. I hate working out, I suck at saving money, and I rarely get off my ass long enough to clean up my house. I just made the connection that these are all linked, I crave instant gratification.
What are some good ways to find the motivation to delay my own contentment?

Mad man strength
Hi. Is there any truth to the stories about mothers lifting cars to get to their babies? Im asking because I was very strong especially my back. But I also had great stress levels and was psyched up always. Was it because I was strong, that I could lift alot or mad man strength. I do suffer from adrenal fatigue now actually.

Walking everyday and strength training.
Beginning a cut this week so I'm in a caloric deficit and keeping my protein up and lowering my carbs slightly. I'm on the Stronglifts 5x5 plan, but I'm also taking up walking everyday for 30-45 minutes in the mornings. Is this a good plan for fat loss without strength loss? I don't want to lose much, just losing ~1lb-3lbs for toning.

Lifting with a Bad Back
Hello all! I'm a relatively new lifter, having started Strong Lifts just 2-3 months ago. I started very, very light (only lifting the bar for many of the different lifts) and as time has gone by and I am beginning to lift heavier weights, I'm becoming concerned about my back while lifting.
I have a sort of spur on one of my vertebrae and see a chiropractor once a week for treatment. It has done wonders for me, as I once would not be able to walk for more than maybe 20-30 minutes before being in a pretty bad state. Now, even just in the last year, I have ran in 5Ks, started training in Brazilian Jui Jitsu, and begun the weight lifting I mentioned. I feel like I am in a good place and pattern with my health, but I wanted to poll the more experienced lifters here for any advice you all may have on things to do when you are lifting and have a history of back problems. I did get myself a weight-lifters belt and always do my best to keep my core tight while lifting, but I feel like there is probably more I should do or consider. Anything you all can recommend is very much appreciated. Thanks!

New Lifter Here
Hey guys, so I wanted to start getting into shape and going to the gym. I've watched a few youtube videos and read that i should start on a strength orientated program. I am 160lbs and ab 5'10''-5'11''. I was wondering what my diet would be as well as what I would do in the gym. I've gone twice with friends so its not like I'm a complete virgin to the gym. Thanks in advance :D
