Candito 6 Week Strength Program!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1CcB8SXgv8

Thoughts on my Routine? M/20/6’1"

I have recently started going back to the gym and was wanting to get an opinion on my current workout program. I have a bad shoulder injury and can't lift weights above my head or go past flat with chest exercises (Dislocated it playing school rugby). I generally stick to high reps because I don't want to burn out my shoulder with heavy weights.

DAY 1: Chest, Shoulders, Triceps - 10min Run @80% Max

  • Dumbell Floor Press 3x15
  • Elevated Push-Up 3x30

  • Rotator Cuff Internal 3x30

  • Rotator Cuff External 3x30 (I do this for building strength in my shoulder)

  • Incline Dumbbell Press 3x30

  • Tricep Pull Downs 3x20

DAY 2: Abs, Back, Biceps - 10min Run @ 80% Max

  • Seated Row 3x30
  • Dumbbell Concentration Curl 3x20

  • Deadlift 3x20

  • Incline Hammer Curls 3x20

  • Hanging Knee Raises 3x30

  • Plate Twists 3x40

DAY 3: Abs, Legs - 10min Run @ 80% Max

  • Squats 3x20

  • Deadlift 3x20

  • Leg Extensions 3x20

  • Crunches 3x30

  • Leg Raises 3x20

Am looking for some additional exercises I can do that will work well with my shoulder / See what you think of my routines

Cheers!

HELP! I have no idea what im doing! :P

Im not so sure this is the correct place so sorry :P - Female, 21, 180cm, about 57kg. I had this awful affliction my entire life.....I'm a stick, a lanky stick. Unlike most of my friends losing weight has literally never been a problem for me (i once ate a cake that was suppose to feed 20 people while watching the first Bridget Jones Diaries) my issue is the polar opposite. Considering my body type I know il never be the curvy hourglass I would love to be, but I know with some dedication I can at least go some of the way. At the moment I am trying to gain muscle, I love a defined back, a toned stomach and a larger than life ass! At the moment im doing only doing one cardio day and im eating protein and fat every chance I can get, yet I seem to be losing weight! AAARGH NO!!!!! HOW?????? I have been given a very limited amount of boobage and i am not going to accept going any smaller!!!!!!! Please someone try to explain to me how the hell this could be happening and if theres anything(s) I can do to stop this.

Ok, long story short, I've never owned a baseball glove. I want to get one so I can play catch with my kids and help encourage them to try new things.

I'm far enough into my life that I'm not about to pick up the sport, so I don't need the latest and greatest or anything like that. I just want to get one that fits properly and does the job without breaking the bank.

Any recommendations or info you guys can pass on would be really helpful.

Thanks

EMSK Managing within your personality [Advice needed]

I manage an auto reconditioning shop with 70 employees. I have recently received a couple of complaints that I am "mean" or "uncaring"..

Background; I was promoted to my position because I understand processes and procedures, I know how to shave minutes when seconds matter. I am a task oriented manager. Normally that is not a flaw, but in my position I have to interact with 70+ employees and vendors daily. I am a Six Sigma Black Belt, which is awesome from a high level management stand point, but I am mid-level manager. I am not a small talk person, I am a focused person no-nonsense person... I love to just get the job done, and I expect everyone to do the same thing. This is the main complaint from people. I never yell/belittle anyone.

My question is, how do I manage within my personality? I want to be more of a "people person" but I am at a loss on how to interact and please MOST people?

Bulking/Diet/Weight Gain Guidance

OK FELLAS I NEED SOME GUIDANCE/HELP HERE. APPRECIATE ANY LEGITIMATE FEEDBACK. Over the course of two-three months my waist size has increased substantially to a 35.5. My love handles are somewhat more noticeable than they were five months ago. Stomach is fine, maybe slight bump but nothing as noticeable like these love handles. Why am I freaking out? Simple. Back in April 2015 I embarked on a mission to go from 235pds (44 waist) to 180 pds. Eight months later I was down to 171 pds (33.5 waist). I was on a low-carb/high fat/high protein diet during this period. I was also going to the gym 3x a week and doing supersets of various compound exercises. I was feeling good, slimming down and enjoying this new way of life. My strength gains were minor though. Then again I never had much muscle to begin with. I was always a skinny-fat kind of person who never worked out and had trouble bench pressing 100 pds. So I knew the journey to increase muscle and strength would be a long one, especially at age 33 and now 34. On Jan 1 I had to take a month break due to minor back surgery, but maintained my diet. On Feb 1, I decided I needed to bulk up to push muscle growth and size. Everything I read and was told said to bulk up but to bulk up clean. So I did. I started with 3000 calories and I began working out with the Adonis Index workouts. I knew by bulking up I would gain weight and most importantly add to my waist which is inevitable. My logic was whats a 34/35 as long as I am increasing in muscular size and strength, I can always cut and shred the fat I gained when I am content with my muscle and size gain. On April 1, I increased to 3100 calories because for weeks/months I was stuck between 171-173. Plus the muscles weren't growing as expected (yes I know this takes time). On May 1, I was stuck on 173 so I increased my calories to 3250 for same reasons as above. On July 1, I realized I was 176 which I was mixed about because I wanted to gain weight but at the same time part of me was nervous that months spent to get to 171 was going to be erased. However, I knew in the grand scheme of things I was doing this to gain muscle and size. The downside was I realized I am getting a larger waist line. Again, everything I read said if you notice a little bit of fat or waist gain, cut ur calories down a bit. So I did to 3100. I also began doing ICF (sometime in mid-June) So today, I realize I am at 177 and my waist is 35.5 and the love handles are increasingly noticeable. Now this is where I am sort of freaking out and need some guidance. I dont want my waist to balloon up to a 36/38 while I am still bench pressing under my own weight, etc etc. I know I am not the strongest man in any shape or form, but I want to get to the point where I can take off my shirt show some chest size, have some solid arm size and some decent cuts. Anything extra would be a plus. Should I be doing anything different? Fix my cals, my macros? Change my exercises (currently on ICF)? Should I go back to losing more weight, lose the stomach and handles (get down to 160) then re-bulk? Age is against me, and so is probably genetics so how do I combat this? My thinking going forward and hopefully someone corrects me if I am wrong: Reduce calories to 2900 and change macros to (45c/30p/25f). Continue on ICF and lift heavier. Only problem with this is the damn love handles will continue to be there. Below is a breakdown of my cals, weight and some strength numbers. Feb 1 - 3000 calories (40c/30p/30f) April 1 - 3100 calories (40c/30p/30f) May 1 - 3250 calories (45c/25p/30f) July 1 - 3100 calories (45c/25p/30f) Today - 2900 calories (45c/25p/30f) Feb 1 - 6'1/171 pds 33.5 waist (little love handles) April 1 - 6'1/173 pds 33.5 waist (little love handles) May 1 - 6'1/173 pds 33.5 waist (little love handles) July 1 - 6'1/176 pds 35 waist (small increase love handles) Today - 6'1/177 pds 35.5 waist (increased love handles) Feb 1 - Bench Press (5x5) 120pds Today - Bench Press (5x) 150pds Feb 1 - Squat (5x5) 185pds Today - Squat (5x) 245pds

Need help making a program

I've been working out on and off for some time now, trying out a few different programs. I'm ~180cm, 174lbs. My lifts are - Deadlift 175lbs, Bench 110lbs, Overhead 80lbs, Barbell row 100lbs. I have squatted with 90lbs, but that isn't my max. I'm just a bit scared of doing squats with heavier weights, so I'm moving up slowly. At the moment I'm doing a two day upper-lower split (Bench, Overhead, Row + Deadlift,Squat). I was thinking of adding 2 days of jogging and 1 day of some plyometrics like squat thrusters and jump squats, and do core on all three. I need suggestions (or perhaps a template) to add core and cardio into this program. My goal is to lose ~10lbs, increase endurance, and improve my lifts to a point where they are in a better ratio.

It looks like I have a big "leash" as to what I can do with my computer as long as it doesn't effect my work that I do on it. Does anyone have any recommendations?

A few months ago, there was an awesome question in /r/AskReddit that was titled What is something you think everyone should have installed on their computer or laptop?. However, I'd like to get a little more specific and ask, instead of your personal computer, what about your work computer?

There is a comment inside with a TON of software links from a different thread, I would just like the opinion of other professionals about what they think is the best to put on their work computer. Don't feel confined to just the stuff inside that comment, if something isn't included, I'd really appreciate it if you share it.

Edit:

Also from that post is, https://ninite.com/

It's perfect for brand new computers. It offers a ton of great software, all completely free, and all on one site. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, and it doesn't look like I'll need anything from it for my work computer. I just thought anyone else who is interested in this post might want to take a look.

Dads' everyday use of time can help create memorable experiences

Creating a memorable experience is not limited to extravagant trips or buying the latest piece of gadgetry. Dads don’t (always) have to break the bank to be memorable to our families and yet I believe this is our charge. Now my story isn’t anything unique. I know friends and family who never knew their dads or worse, have a very ugly history with them. But this is why this is important.

Dads our duty is to spend our time well and we can do it with these five everyday actions that will help us make an impact.

Read about them here: http://ift.tt/2aqQ9PY

EMSKR Age appropriate celebration for dad and Bf?

Dad got seriously successful recently and BF did great in his finals. I would love to celebrate (separately).

However it is so hard to know what to get. I feel like there are so many options for gifting women (bags, shoes and they never say its enough) but my dad has literally only used one wallet all my life. (The rests are in his cupboard awaiting "occassion"). Bf isnt too far from that.

They are great men who deserve great celebrations. I love cooking but Im still learning to and both of them just tolerate it (bless them), therefore its nothing extraordinary.

One option I am thinking of is getting a Royal Enfield Bullet 500cc on rent and going with dad on a road trip, but is this advisable for a 50 yo man with cardiac problems? (RE is too big for me to handle, so we cant switch and he never complains thinking it would make him look weak in front of his kid). Do men like spa days and massages? He could go alone or with mom.

For the Bf i am thinking more of a home theatre effect where we watch animation movies all days with popcorn and stuff, but I can do that anyday. I would really like this to be memorable.

Im BFFs with both of them (I mean, you get it) so if there is any activity that would increase our bonding that'd be great. I can't live without these two adorable idiots and I'd like them to know.

EMSKR: how to be more manly?

so basically i kinda got screwed over in life. im 27 but was emotionally abused all my life from my mom so it kinda made me grow up lame, and like i missed out on how to be manly when i was a kid cus so many movies talk about being yourself and all normal kids just ignore that but i just kept on being weird. i think the last part of my manliness was around age 16 when i still fantasied about saving girls i liked and their families and getting married to them, but after that i just completely fell apart mentally, turned into a giant pussy - though i am incredibly smart and philosophical so i don't want to get rid of that, but i do want to kinda get into my more manly side as nature intends - cus i do suffer from severe anxiety and pretty much every body can see it when i talk in person, i always sound like i cant breathe and talk really fast and it sucks. so trying to be more manly, like im working on my posture and talking slower with fewer words and having a more rough personality cus i do tend to be over friendly. can anybody else relate? what advice can you give me? thanks the biggest thing i learned in life, is that there is SO MUCH bullshit, and you gotta be TOUGH to survive. cus girls are complete liars, they say they rather have a smart sensitive man, but nature is survival of the fittest and only A TOUGH GUY will get them wet. though i dont want a girlfriend anymore, im 27 and lost my hair and i just so sick of it all and with my anxiety disorder i cant work anymore, so basically just wanna be more manly and tough for myself.

Long story short: title says it all. This would be a man to man talk. Just a few things:

He is on the sensitive side and prone to being offended.

He has worked in leadership there longer than me.

He takes his job very seriously.

Whereas he strives for perfection and "above and beyond" performance, I am more laid back and enjoy making the day fun for the rest of the team by setting goals, cracking jokes, playing good music on the speakers chosen by staff.

Finally, our job is not in any way high paying nor important to society. I might as well be flipping burgers, although it isn't quite THAT unimportant.

Sparing as many details as possible for obvious reasons. THANK YOU!

How are guys stronger than girls?

I'm a bio major so I understand how hormones like testosterone work pretty well, so I understand the molecular and metabolic level. But no one's ever bothered to tell me what happens on the tissue level. I get the feeling it has to do with guys having an advantage in one of the following areas:

1) Muscle Mass, either starting out with a higher minimum muscle mass or being able to maintain it more easily

2) Muscle Density, which I somehow doubt because this would require a different muscle structure

3) Metabolism simply allows men to gain muscle more quickly (which I doubt because the strongest man in the world is still stronger than the stronger woman in the world)

4) A combination of the 3.

As you can see, my logic leans towards more muscle mass.

I use to be at weightlifter .I own my own bar weights and any platform. I only get out to lift and few times a month. I use to lift stones with all friend of mine and I wanted to get back into it because for me that is one of the best strength exercises.

So I ordered the mold from slatters hardware. A 14 inch. I know he sells foam balls to put in the center to reduce the weight.

My questions are has anybody tried just getting an foam ball from any craft store? And has anybody ever tried putting a concrete die in it for color coding them? I was not sure if the die would get all over my skin or clothes.

Thanks Chad

So some background info

-I workout in the morning -I don't have anything to eat in the mornings and plan to use these for breakfast -I work out 45 minutes-1 hour after "breakfast -I use primarily calisthenics, using weights only for weak points -I gained 15 pounds in one month without protein -I am looking to gain strength and endurance ONLY, with little to no gains in size

I don't know how much of that was necessary but I don't know much of anything relating to what I'm doing right now. EMSK: The difference between acetaminophen and NSAIDs

So, these are the two most common types of 'Over The Counter' painkillers on the market. You can find them in the 'active ingredients' list on the back of your medicine bottle. I got sick recently and needed to pick between them for my symptoms, and each has its advantages and disadvantages. I think as a general rule you should have as much basic pharmaceutical knowledge as you can absorb to make informed OTC drug purchasing decisions, especially if you can't afford a doctor, and this is an important place to start.

NSAID stands for Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug. Various NSAIDs are all designed to reduce inflammation, which is at the root of most pains and seasonal illnesses. Cramps come from swelling, your body swells wherever it is wounded, stuffed sinuses are the result of swelling, etc. But the big danger with NSAIDs is that they are proven to cause severe stomach bleeding and other gastrointestinal issues if used often. They are also very dangerous for small children. You should always default to the alternative, acetaminophen, if swelling is not an issue or is something you can go without treating.

There are three common sub-categories of NSAID: Aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen. Aspirin and ibuprofen are mostly interchangeable quick-relief pills with debated detriments, and you'll want them for something like a twisted ankle or a deep cut. Naproxen, on the other hand, has a more muted delayed-release effect. This allows it to treat chronic issues such as arthritis, back pain, sunburn, or menstrual cramps.

Acetaminophen, sometimes known as paracetamol, is not anti-inflammatory and is used strictly for treating pain. It blocks pain receptors in the brain, making it ideal for non-injury/issue-inflicted pains like headaches. And as long as you're not washing it down with vodka, it's far safer than NSAIDs. The most overwhelmingly popular brand of acetaminophen is Tylenol, to the point it has a genericized trademark effect that also regrettably makes it interchangeable with all OTC painkillers for many people.

However, when shopping for drugs, you should always compare ingredients and go for the generics if they have the same active ingredients and cost less. Names on the front like Tylenol or Mucinex are just meaningless brand names slapped on commodities to increase the price. Considering them is about as foolish as a power plant choosing its coal based on how cool the coal's nickname is rather than basing their decision on the coal's price. Always flip the box over. But for reference, Advil = ibuprofen, Aleve = naproxen, Tylenol = acetaminophen. Aspirin is a trademarked drug and is both the 'generic' and the brand in the US.

Also, you should NEVER mix any of these drugs if you don't want to bleed internally. Pick one and only one at a time.

I could write a ton more, or get into arguments about latest studies on their effects, but I just wanted to give you the general 'common knowledge' on these two (four?) ubiquitous drugs to help you out next time you're at the corner pharmacy.

TL;DR Use NSAIDs for swelling: Aspirin or ibuprofen for injuries, naproxen for chronic pain. Use acetaminophen if NSAIDs aren't necessary because it's much safer. Ignore brand names and purchase based strictly on dosage of active ingredients. Don't mix or take with booze.

need a good strength program

I've been lifting for about 2 years right now my bench press is 255 lbs for 3rm And my low bar squat is 355lbs x 3 rm And my sumo deadlift is 385lbs for 1rm while my best pull was 455 on conventional . I weigh about 167 lbs and I'm 21 years old. My goals right now is trying to hit a 500 lb deadlift a 315 bench press and 405 squat for 1rm . Hoping to compete in my first powerlifting competition after I'm satisfied with my strength levels because right now it sucks real bad.

I've heard the 531 is really slow in progression..trying to reach my goals by end of the year or sooner if possible.

EMSK Why They Should Work In A Restaurant

Guys if you want to improve your ability to talk to people I would highly suggest working at a restaurant. It will force you to talk to people each and every shift. Doesnt even have to be at a restaurant. When I worked at Panera bread as a cashier I probably interacted with over 80 people a day. It also helped me get over my fear with talking to girls! My gosh the amount of girls you talk to is endless. It might take 1 out of 500 to get a date when you first start out, but it will happen. What will also happen is girls will be asking for your number with out you trying. Try it out guys! Its a great part time job.

EMSKR: How to tell your boss you are quitting

There's a bunch of threads telling you how to quit, but not exactly how to tell your boss.

I only see my boss about once a month. I will have to tell him I'm quitting over the phone. I'm thinking of emailing Jim "Hi X, are you free this afternoon for a call?" Which will already raise suspicions since he says we're always open to call him.

When I actually call him, I'll start out "Over the weekend I recieved another job offer which I am going to take. I have really enjoyed working for you and have no issues with anyone here, but as you've probably realized I don't want to live in Y town forever and this would allow me to live closer to my family"

Eh? I'm just nervous for what he will say. Last guy that quit he has escorted out of the office, but I work in a different office than him.

EMSK Request: How to stop shoes from squeaking every step.

I have a pair of dress shoes that squeak every step I take no matter how I try to walk in them. Anything short of tip-toeing results in repetitive squeaks. It's started happening in another pair of shoes, so I was wondering if there is a way to fix them or prevent it in the future.

Recommendations for solid strength programme

I'm 37 year's young male, 6'8 120kg looking to get back to training again hopefully within the next few weeks knee depending. Had surgery three weeks ago to remove screws in knee that we're causing constant stress fractures, I'm a below knee amputee same leg so can't get prosthetic on yet due to swelling. Have read up on the wiki and have for the past few years been training with just bodyweight, but recently invested in a bench and 200kg worth of cast plates. I'm thinking along the lines of stronglifts 5x5 , but welcome the more experienced among you to pass down your wisdom. I'm eventually hoping to get into disabled strongman but think that's a good few years away.

EMSKR: What to do in a first aid situation.

I witnessed a nasty accident on the road earlier today and the driver was in critical condition. I stopped to help out with a bunch of other people, but I had no idea what to do to help. Luckily there was an off duty EMT there and could help him until the paramedics arrived. I'd like to know what to do in that kind of situation just in case the next time there isn't someone else there to help.

EMSKR: Things to do before or right as you start your first post-college job.

In exactly one week I'll be starting my first major-related job. I'm extremely lucky that I was able to start a career thats actually a part of my major from college.

I'm looking for advice on things I should be doing before I start. Or advice on things I should do on my first couple of days.

Things I've Done So Far:

  • Emailed the recruiter asking what I should do before I start

  • Emailed my supervisor with the same question (I've read its looks bad to have zero communication with the company during the time in between accepting their offer and your first day).

  • I've purchased professional clothing/shoes

  • I've also purchased some career related office supplies since I'll have a desk. But I have absolutely no idea what else I should purchase beside a portfolio/binder (i already owned one that I used from interviews/career fairs) and pens/pencils. Advice about other things I should purchase that have helped others with their career in ways that are big or small would be extremely appreciated.

The emails to the recruiter/supervisor didn't really give me much to go on, other than "Buy good shoes" and "Enjoy the time off between jobs." Thank you to everyone who has read all of this and to those offering advice. I'm a little stressed out about starting off the right way and I'd be extremely grateful to those who offer advice.

Thanks!

Edit: This might be applicable so I'm including this bit of info. The career field I am includes several fields: Operations Mgmt. - Logistics - Project Mgmt. - Team Leader

EMSKR: Fluffy and Straight Hair Probs

Alright men, I need your assistance big time. Every time I go out to parties, get-togethers, sporting events, etc. the look I try to pull of with me hair is sort of a messy style; almost a mix of Jensen Ackles and Robert Pattinson if that paints you a better picture.

When my hair stays in place, it's usually a good night -- for obvious reasons (great hair generates confidence) -- but that's the problem. With my fluffy, straight, thick hair, my hair rarely stays in place and usually just weighs itself down and makes me look like I've just forgotten to shower.

I've tried out lots of different strategies such as, "less is more" which refers to less product is better because it doesn't weigh your hair down, every time I apply product I target the roots, etc., but nothing ever works.

The product I currently use is Crew's Molding Clay, because I'm going for more of a naturally messy look as opposed to a wet messy look. Is this perhaps part of the problem? If so, I'm most certainly open for suggestions.
