EMSK: How To Listen To Women
What makes a good listener?
A good listener doesn't listen to respond. They listen to learn.
"Listening" is not just "hearing". It's asking good questions that help you understand the other person.
My girlfriend told me "I don't like it when you tell me how to do things. I feel like you're judging me."
"I'm not judging you." I said. "It was just a suggestion."
I was not listening.
Regardless of how I experienced it, her experience was that I was judging her.
A bad listener focuses on explaining his own experience.
A good listener focuses on learning about the other person's experience:
-
"Which part makes you feel like I'm judging you?"
-
"Was it what I said, or how I said it?"
-
"How would you like me to make suggestions in future? Or would you prefer it if I didn't make suggestions?"
A good listener improves the way he relates with the other person by learning how they think. Learning what's important to them.
A bad listener learns nothing.
At an interview for a sales job I was asked "How will you bring us 10 new clients in your first month?"
I didn't have an answer prepared. I panicked and blurted out the usual ways of reaching new clients. It was an empty, generic answer.
I was not listening. Any monkey could've rattled off that list.
When the interviewer asked that question what he really wanted to know was: "Does this guy know what he is doing?"
A good listener would've unpacked the interviewer's question and learned what the interviewer was looking for:
"You know I haven't really thought about specific strategies. What's your biggest bottleneck right now in getting new clients on board?"
A good listener aims to understand deeply.
A bad listener misses the point.
He didn’t swallow a coin………Did he?

The title sums up my question pretty well. Basically I just sweat a lot. For example, I'll put on a shirt in the morning before I head to school and by the time I sit down in my first class (it only takes me about 30 mins to get to school), I'll already have pit stains and they'll only get bigger throughout the day. I've already tried all the anti-perspirants and even the extra-strength ones but they don't seem to have an effect on me. Is there anything else I can do to stop sweating so much?

EMSKR: How to take a nap during the day.
I wake up for work every morning between 6 and 7 (depends the the day of the week). I'm usually in bed that night by 10:30. This is all good.
On weekends/holidays/random days off, I also wake up between 6 and 7am - this is without an alarm or any type of wake up call. I find this very annoying as I tend go to out with friends/want to stay up late at weekends but u always start to get really tired around 10pm.
My issue is that I have often went to bed for an hour or so on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon with the intention of taking a nap, but I never feel tired until later in the evening (and even then I can't sleep).
I want to know how I can take a nap during the day in order to be refreshed for longer that night.

EMSK A few things about love.
If you haven't fallen in love, it's likely a matter of time before you do. When you do fall, it is easy to fall hard, and this is not a bad thing. The exploration of a good relationship is a fun journey.
The problem is when a 20 year old guy thinks his girl is the one and only. Que Saving Silverman Reference
The truth is, countless human beings on the planet have the ability to trigger your brain to release love chemicals. Yet, some do find their perfect someone and spend lifetimes together.
When you're around 17-25 however, you are going through DRASTIC maturity and self awareness changes and you will take on new identities. You won't be the same person in five years. Seeing early relationships as futile from a realist perspective can be beneficial depending on the type of person you are.
It is more likely than not that the love of your life at 20 will turn out to be the love of a long term relationship. And again, there's nothing wrong with that. No thought process can save you from pure heartbreak. Simply with all this in mind, I think is is important to keep your wits about you and be careful enough not to rush into any decisions or actions involving a significant other. You're growing up, is getting married at 20 really such a good idea?
In conclusion, wrap it up folks.

EMSKR: Where to Purchase and Tailor a Suit?
Just graduated and I need to purchase a new suit or two for interviews. There are a lot of different places near me that offer these services but which is the best? Should I go for a large retailer like Macy's to get the suit and get it tailored there? Or just the suit and look for a small business to tailor it for me? Or should i look locally and get everything from a small business or small chain retailer? I know Jos A Bank and Men's Warehouse often have real good sales on the weekends. What the best way to tackle this? EDIT: I forgot to add a very important question. For the interview process, should I have more than one suit available? In case a company has more than one interview for the position. I don't know if it would be held by the same people or if showing up in the same suit is a bad thing.

Diabetic Push Pull Legs?
I'm T2 diabetic and have been for years. I walk with a weighted backpack to control my blood sugar, and my diet is decently clean and low carb. This works for my diabetes management. I'm 29, 5'9, and about 173 with body fat % somewhere in the high teens. My digital estimator says 17%, but I doubt that thing is accurate. I'd like to get back into weight lifting and put on some muscle at a responsible rate. My goals are to feel stronger, weigh a little more, and fill out a large t-shirt again. I don't have to have 6 pack abs or be crazy vascular or anything like that.
I think I'd add in the extra calories through a (greek)yogurt/milk based shake with fruit and veggies plus some protein powder around 4 in the afternoon, workout, and then cook dinner. I don't have time nor the appetite for a 6 day a week weight lifting routine, my focus will always be on the cardio to control my sugar levels. With that said, I was wanting to start out with a simple, simple PPL and figure out my routine and add complexity from there. So, please give me thoughts on anything in this post. I have a rack, plates, and dumbbells at home.

EMSKR: What sort of car insurance do I *really* need for a rental car?
I always book rental cars on a Visa Signature Premier card that I have that has good travel rewards. One of the perks that's supposed to come with the card is rental car insurance.
It used to just be that I'd "decline" the rental agency's insurance and be all set, but recently the rental car agencies have gotten really aggressive and tell me that "most cards don't cover XYZ" and that I should really buy their coverage for ~$20/day.
They basically just bamboozle me with all sorts of "loss" and "damage" terms and I don't have enough of a background in car insurance to know if they're trying to fleece me or if I actually need all of that coverage.
I also have my own car insurance policy for my own vehicle, but I'm not sure if that's relevant to rental cars, cause I used to rent cars when I travelled even before I had my own car insurance policy.
Is it recommended that I take the rental car company's insurance or does it hurt me if it's generally unnecessary and it causes me to lose my existing credit card coverage?

Diagnosed with a major labrum tear, surgery on the horizon. Any recommendations or past experience to help guide a training regimen during my recovery and rehab?
Hi everyone,
I have been a amateur powerlifter for a few years. Back in 2011, I found starting strength was segway to get excited me about squatting, deadlifting, and bench press. Over the years, I have had moderate gains, with the past year, going down a bit, due to workload and other fun life commitments (a lovely girl, mostly).
Onto the injury, in late 2012, I experienced a posterior dislocation on my left shoulder while playing intramural flag football. It was completely random and happened when I was hit from behind and slammed into the ground while defending a pass. I went to the ER, the shoulder popped back in after I was x-rayed, but before I was diagnosed by the physician. At the time, they said it was minor and didn't dislocate, gave me a hydrocodone prescription and sent me on my merry way with an orthopedic referral. The next morning, the ER radiologist called me up, notifying me it was indeed a posterior dislocation and that I had to be readmitted; long story short, I didn't go back had one session of physical therapy at the orthopedic referral and kept lifting after a week or two of recovery.
My athletic background is mixed. I played a lot of soccer up through high school, but never starting lifting until 2011. After my first dislocation, the shoulder was fine, I didn't have any problems with presses for the next two years, but had to regain some strength. However, in 2014, the dislocations became more prominent, going from every couple of months, mostly minor, to this year, where it happens about once a month, doing things from everyday tasks to actually working out.
I got an MRI about a week ago, they diagnosed last Friday with a 50% labrum tear and minor fracturing of my ball joint of my shoulder, as a product of the dislocation. I'm aiming for surgery at late September to early October and have been told it's six weeks in a sling followed by 4 months of rehab before getting back to regular use. Also, with the severity of the damage, I will have about a 25% chance that the joint may dislocate again after surgery.
Now that you have survived my life story (if you are still reading), my question is related to fitness strategy. Now my current exercise cycle focuses around a mix of powerlifting and cardio. With the shoulder in danger and out of commission, that takes a large part out of the equation. Does anyone have recommendations on how I can focus to keep relatively decent upper body strength while not actively engaging the shoulder (primarily the labrum), prior to surgery, and post surgery, how to maintain a decent training regime, while not impacting my injury?
I know this is risky, and I'm not looking to do anything detrimental to my recovery, but the major reason I'm undergoing surgery, is not to lose the ability to train the shoulder again. With that, I'm trying to find creative ways to continue training (and maybe this just relies on cardio and legs), to keep my active lifestyle.
Thanks for reading and any feedback is extremely useful!

EMSK: Fire Prevention
On the heels of my previous post, Proper Handling of a Firearm, there are several tips and comments I have on fire prevention and safety that I don't think the general public knows, or for that matter, cares for. This is a cross between the fire safety signs you saw when you were a kid, Smokey the Bear, and knowledge I've picked up along the way working accidents and fires. I've divided the prevention methods up based on their type.
Structure Fires
- Smoke Detectors- Having one doubles your chances of survival. I'm not kidding. Test it once a month, and change the batteries every time it chirps. If you can't buy one, call your local fire department. They will usually give you one for free. Mine goes a step further and will install it for free.
- Carbon Monoxide Detector- Same as above. Get one. Especially if you live in predominantly colder regions of the world. Carbon Monoxide is odorless, colorless, and tasteless, but common symptoms are headaches and nausea. Not treated can lead to coma or death.
- Wall Outlets- Don't. Overload. Them. By this I mean, don't connect small extension cords like this one multiple times. We call those, house fire cords. Guess why. Don't plug multiple cords into one outlet unless you know it can handle them.
- Chimneys- Chimney Sweeps are a thing. Where I'm from, it's usually off duty firefighters. Find one in your area, and have them come and clean/check your chimney at least once a year. Depending on how much you use it, maybe twice a year. Creosote, is the term used for the residue built up inside your chimney from every bit of combustible material you burn. It is highly combustible and can burn simply for being hot enough.
- Stove Top- Turn it off when you leave the room, even for a minute. Turn it off when you're done. Plain and simply.
- Trash/Clutter- Off the floor, in the trash. Same with clothing or anything else. Not only is it a fire hazard, it is a hazard for those of us who have to enter the home and walk/crawl around in it.
- Keep Doors/Windows Closed- I know it sounds weird, but if you have the chance, close all windows and doors you can. It will help prevent the spread of smoke and fire. Let the first responders decide which door needs to be left open and which window should be open. Let us to the ventilating. If you open all the doors and windows, the fire can spread to where ever the oxygen is coming from. By doing this, we can almost always control which way the fire will burn and how fast we cna put it out.
Grease Fires- This one gets its own bold type. Do not, under any circumstance, ever, pour water on a grease fire. Why? Grease fire + Water = Spontaneously more fire, bigger problem(understatement).
Brush/Grass/Forest Fires
- Controlled Burn- If you plan on doing it, plan and prepare for it. Make sure there is a fire-line about 3 feet wide that separates the burn from everything else. Make sure everything inside your fire-line is what you want to burn. Including trees. Finally, assume everything could go wrong, and call the non-emergency line for your fire/police department and tell them you are planning a controlled burn at such and such location. Unless there is a burn ban, they will happily take the information and let you do it. Prior knowledge of how big the area is, when you're doing it, where you are, helps fire crews decide how many units they need to send rather than guesstimating. We may even drive by and see how you're doing. Note: Watch the weather...
- Call It In- If you see smoke, white, grey, black, etc..Please call it in. We'd rather deal with it now, where and how big it is now, then later. If you drive past one on the highway/interstate, call it in and try to give a detailed response. What mile marker, what direction, how big, etc. Don't ignore it. Dispatch will hate me for saying this, but they'd rather get 8 calls about the same fire with varying, somewhat consistent reports, than 1 call with a vague description.
- Don't Litter- Smokey the Bear here, "Only you can prevent forest fires." "9/10 forest fires are started by humans..." That means there is one angry bear out there with a box of matches...Anyways...don't litter. Don't throw trash out of your car along the road. Be respectful of the environment.
- Camp Fire/Bonfire- Watch where you put it, and what you burn. There's a good amount of resources on this sub for making the perfect campfire and what wood to use. Watch what you use. Limit the amount of gasoline you pour on it. Make a fire circle. One for the fire itself, and then a larger one around it void of any brush, trash, etc. Worth mentioning as well, don't drive your vehicle over a fire to put it out. Plan ahead and either have water on hand, pee(not kidding), or a case of Bud Light. That's all it's good for anyways.
Vehicle Fire
- Seat Belt- WEAR IT. I'm serious. Even if you are just driving down the street. Wear. It.
- Basic Maintenance- Make sure you vehicle is properly cleaned and maintained. Inside and out. It doesn't have to be pristine, but void of any hazards to yourself or others is a good start.
- Tires- Like shoes, always buy the best. Not necessarily for your money, but for your life. They are your connection between the road and you. Make sure you get a warranty for them. If they are balding, change them. Similarly, make sure your tire pressure is good, including for your spare.
- Transporting Gasoline- Avoid it if you can. If you have to, carry it in small amounts in a certified gas can.
- If your car does catch on fire....Pull over. Turn engine off. Get out and away from the car at least 100 feet. Call 911.
Other
- Road Hazards- If you notice anything out of the ordinary on a road, or anything obstructing traffic, please call it in. At your own discretion decide if it needs immediate attention. If so, call 911. If not, call a non-emergency line.
- Gas Leak- If you smell natural gas, trust me, you'll know what it smells like, call 911. Give an approximate area if you can't be more specific. Then move away from the area. Avoid lighting anything, seriously.
Finally, don't be a hero. Don't further put yourself in harm, at the expense of others. I'm not saying I or another firefighter/EMT/police officer want all of the glory. We are just better prepared for it. We have the gear to fight and hopefully fix the problem. If you run into the burning building, you just became another victim. If we have to send more firefighters in to save you, we are further risking and draining our manpower. Especially if it was for nothing. Let us do our job. Similarly, firefighters and certainly EMTs/Paramedics appreciate it, if you DON'T MOVE SOMEONE WHO WAS IN A CAR WRECK. This includes if they were hit by a vehicle. Don't. Move. Them. Neck and spinal cord injury made worse.
If I think of any more, or anyone has any they think should be added, I will add them below.

EMSK: Proper Handling of a Firearm
There are at least four main points that every one should be aware of, regardless of your knowledge and use of a firearm. Each rule ties into all the others.
- Always treat the firearm as if it were loaded. It really goes without saying. Don't assume a firearm is unloaded. Similarly, observe that the action is open before handing a firearm to another person, or accepting it from them.
- Never point a firearm at anyone or anything you do not intend to kill or destroy. Muzzle control. Depending on the circumstances, up or down. Either has its advantages and disadvantages. Assume the firearm will fire, regardless of its current state, and point it in a direction that will cause the least harm.
- Keep your finger off the trigger. Keep your finger extended along the trigger guard, or just simply off the trigger until you are ready to fire. This rule is there to prevent accidental discharge. Yes, it happens, that's why the rule is there. Don't assume just because you have the safety on, you'll be fine.
- Know your target and what is beyond it. Self-explanatory, but quite simply, be aware of your surroundings. If you are unsure of your shot, or that which is behind your target, don't shoot.
I will say, if you are interested in buying and owning a firearm, though not mandatory( I don't think anywhere), take a firearm safety course. Learn how to take it apart, clean, and care for it. Know how to operate and fire it. If it's for self defense, don't count on it further than your training with it.

EMSK how to gamble without losing your ass.
Have a preset limit of what you're willing to lose. Go over that number in your head again and again until you're sick of the number. When you go to play, take that money out of your wallet so you know once it's gone. A couple dollars more won't hurt, but no more than $20 over your limit. My walking money is $20 per table, so I only allow for $5 over that in case it's my last hand and I need odds or something. Alternatively, you could take your gambling money and change it for chips to accomplish the same result.
If you start losing hard, cut your losses and walk away. Seriously, don't dig yourself a deeper hole. I have a friend that has gone down 20 THOUSAND after repeated trips to the ATM, and still managed to come out on top, but don't count on this. If you pay long enough, the house WILL win.
If you start winning, put some chips back into your pocket and DON'T TAKE THEM BACK OUT. At the very least, try to walk away with the money you came in with. Anything beyond that is gravy. Again, I start out with $20, so, at 50, I put $5 in, and every 25 I do it again. At a certain point, I shovel quarters in and start lining my pockets. Remember, they have no qualms about taking your money, so don't feel bad about putting their money in your pockets.
Hopefully, this will help done of you out. Don't forget to get player's cards. You might only earn a little at a time, but free perks are still good.

"How would you like me to make suggestions in future? Or would you prefer it if I didn't make suggestions?"
A good listener improves the way he relates with the other person by learning how they think. Learning what's important to them.
A bad listener learns nothing.

A good listener would've unpacked the interviewer's question and learned what the interviewer was looking for:
"You know I haven't really thought about specific strategies. What's your biggest bottleneck right now in getting new clients on board?"
A good listener aims to understand deeply.
A bad listener misses the point.

EMSKR: Gaining muscle with a hyper metabolism.
So, i am a 18 year old dude that is seeking a easy, simple way to bulk up. I am not quite a NEET, but i do spend a lot of time sorta mugging away on the computer and such.
I am 5'10", and weigh around 110-120 lbs, and am an extremely skinny build. I do have muscle, and i have noticed i have bulked up a little bit, but i jave received a few comments from some of my friends saying that if i were to bulk up, i'd look 40x better, and it could potentially help with my acne (its not too bad.)
So what is a easy routine to simply bulk up and gain some muscle? Im open to protein supplements as well, since i work at a drug store and get 20% off of that stuff.
EDIT: I should clarify: I eat lile a fucking pig, too, and i do not gain any fat and barely any muscle, which explains the "hyper metabolism" part of the title.

EMSK How To Keep The Conversation Going On A First Date [xpost from /r/socialskills]
Don't get stuck in polite conversation. There's no "skin" invested in it. You've got to get at least a little bit naked (so to speak) in order to connect with someone. Here's how you do it, and feel comfortable at the same time:
You find common interests... but not the way you're thinking.
We humans have just 4-8 basic emotions, depending on which study you read: joy, trust, fear, surprise, sadness, disgust, anger and anticipation. Everything we experience triggers a combination of these basic emotions. There aren’t that many combinations.
We may not have experienced the same activities, but we have experienced the same emotions. So when I say you need to find common interests, I mean you need to find something that sparks similar emotionsin both of you.
Say Felipe is studying to be an architect, and Manuela is studying to be a doctor. Felipe doesn’t care about medicine and Manuela doesn’t care about Architecture. They ask each other polite questions:
Felipe: Oh I hear you have to study for a long time to be a Doctor. How many years do you have left?
Manuela: Yeah, I’ve got another 2 years. 7 total. Although you never really stop learning. What do you want to design when you graduate?
Felipe: Bridges. I mainly want to design bridges. But I guess I’d be happy designing anything.
Manuela: Yeah I know what you mean, I just want to graduate already as well!
This is pretty boring, right? Neither of them are offering or asking for emotional information. You need to make an effort to understand them. This chitchat isn’t going to cut it.
At this level of conversation they have to keep thinking of new topics every few seconds. The ideas will dry up pretty soon. This is why conversations often feel like hard work. It’s much easier to pause and explore one topic for a while.
So here’s what you do...
You don’t just listen to respond. You listen to understand. You go deeper.
-
Offer your own emotional information
-
AND dig for their emotional information.
Keep digging until you understand their way of thinking. Until you feel the emotion they’re talking about. Then show them that you understand by sharing a similar experience of your own.
These questions are your friends:
-
WHAT do you like about that?
-
WHAT made you want that?
-
WHAT scares you about that?
-
Essentially any question that uncovers “What makes you feel that way?” or “What makes you think that way?”
WHAT tends to work better than WHY because WHAT feels like you’re curious and WHY can sometimes feel like an attack. “WHY do you like that?" “Because I do. What's your problem?!"
So back to Felipe and Manuela. Now that they know how to “listen to understand”, how does their conversation go?
Felipe: I mainly want to design bridges. But I guess I’d be happy designing anything.
Manuela: What do you like about designing bridges specifically?
Felipe: Well I haven't actually designed one yet, but for some reason I keep picturing myself standing on top of a huge bridge that I designed. I don’t know. It just makes me feel alive.
Manuela: Yeah that sounds pretty cool. What do you mean by ‘alive’ though?
Felipe: Hmm, well the bridge started as an idea in my head, and now I’m standing on it. It’s like having ultimate control over everything.
Manuela: Oh I know that feeling! That’s how I feel when I think of saving someone’s life at the last minute in the emergency room. Boom… Doctor Incontrol.
Felipe: Haha. Is that what made you decide to become a Doctor? Because you like feeling incontrol?
Manuela: Yeah, I guess it is.
Felipe: Wow. That’s the same reason I decided to be an architect. So does that mean you hate it when other people boss you around too?
Manuela: OMG that’s the worst!! I can’t stand it when other people tell me what to do.
Fun! Turns out they’re both control freaks. THAT’s their common interest. Now they can geek out on that instead of churning through countless emotionless topics that they don’t connect on.

Pain in left femur/low back area when squatting--been bothering me for weeks despite deloading and frequent 2-4 day breaks from lifting
F/26/5'4"/160 lbs. Unfortunately, I am without insurance and unable to see a doc at the moment (NOT asking for medical advice so much as stretching/modification advice). This pain is new, happened within the past month or so.
I was progressing steadily with my weights--adding about 5 lbs a every session for a month or so. Then I found out I was moving, so I had stopped lifting for about 3 weeks. I got back into it at my new location, and deloaded a bit (maybe not enough?). Had my form checked by a personal trainer experienced in lifting who said my form was good. After hearing this, I jumped up in weight quite a bit to match what I was doing pre-move.
I got to about a 140 lb squat when I started having trouble. The pain starts in my left leg/hip when I pick up the bar and step backwards at 115 for a warm up. It gets worse as I squat, and when I take the bar off my back, it hurts to stand straight. Then my hip causes problems for the rest of my workout. When I bend over and stand back up, it's very sharp and painful. Sometimes it kind of feels like I need to "pop" my femur or something for relief.
Has anyone else had this? If so, what stretches work for you?
In the meantime, should I stop squatting completely, or switch to goblin squats (these don't hurt), or keep going but deload extremely until the pain is gone (it doesn't hurt to back squat below 100 lbs).

What app do you like for tracking your lifts? (Thank you.)
I've been using pen/paper, but I'd like to use an app.
A friend said FitNotes was great, but it's only available on Android and I have an iPhone. (There is an iOS app called FitNotes, but it's not the same!)
What I'm looking for: 1- easy to see 1RM/PRs/previous weight lifted 2- easy to add lifts. I don't want to have to create workouts; I just want to add lifts. (FitNotes for iOS makes you name your workout so you can re-use them ... you can't just add whatever lifts you happen to do on a given day.)
Thank you. :)

EMSKR: How do you clean a shower/sink drain that is clogged with hair?
I have the shortest hair in my household yet it invariably falls to me to clean the drains of showers and sinks that clog up with hair. I have tried all the approaches below and none is really satisfactory. Any suggestions or advice welcome.
Methods I have tried:
-
Drain cleaners based on caustic soda: This is the most often recommmeded solution but it is very poor at shifting hair blockages in bathrooms. Works better in kitchens where grease is the main problem.
-
Drain cleaners based on 95% Sulphuric Acid. These do work but they are incredibly nasty and really aren't supposed to be used indoors. Will damage metal fixtures such as chrome trimmings and just about anything else it spills on and gives very unpleasant fumes.
-
A plunger: Can work with enough effort but really messy and you need to scoop the gunk out of the shower with your hands or else it just goses straight back down the drain again.
-
Actually dismantaling the U-trap and physically removing blockages: I have had to do this on occasion when all else failed. Very awkward and messy and prone to causing leaks when old pipes are dismantled and reassembled.
Ideally I would love a pour in solution that was as effective as sulphuric acid but safe to use indoors and that that won't damage trimmings.

WHY I AM A HORRIBLE FATHER – REASON #1701 – AKA: “BOY, THAT ESCALATED QUICKLY”
New training routine based on Madcows & Smolov jr. Thought & advice please
Hi, I am looking for some advice with my programming. I have been powerlifting about 18 months and my current lifts are 160/115/190, BW ~82kgs @ 5"8. The program I have had the most success with is madcows 5x5, however the bench and overhead work was never sufficient and i stalled very quickly the first few times running the program. I then swapped out what was prescribed for the smolov jr rep schemes and made good progress. Attached is the Third iteration of this training plan.
I have modified a few things
1] Increase squat top sets from 1 to 3 to allow for more strength gains as I never felt like I was getting enough volume.
2] Turned it from 3 days into a 5 day program by splitting the squat/Bench & rows into two separate workouts, This was because eventually as i got further into the plan I would find myself too tired after squats to push myself with bench or vice versa causing me to stall in one.
3] Pushed back the matching of PB's from 4 weeks to 10. This was done with the thought that i would spend more time working between 70-80% building more strength before testing/pushing it
I was wondering if anyone would be able to advise me whether this has any obvious flaws.
Things that I think I may add but would like to hear from people with more experience :If I swapped the deadlifts out for deficit deadlifts, would this provide 'better' development for my deadlifts as I struggle off the floor, and would 3-4 sets of front squats for 8-12 reps after my main squats be detrimental. Thanks to anyone who responds, any input is appreciated
EMSKR: How do you explain to someone who thinks they're a genius and is always giving advice that they are as dumb as a post without insulting them?
We all have that friend. They think they're the smartest person in any room they happen to stumble in to. Their advice is always terrible, yet they're shoving it in everyone's face. Dumb people think they're the smartest thing in the world. Anyone with a lick of common sense is forced to listen to and argue with this person about their terrible advice, but is too polite to say anything about it without insulting them. When you actually find something to say about their advice being wrong, you're met with tons of passive aggressive nonsense or outright hostility.
So, I ask you, how do you explain to someone that they're stupid as a bag of wet hair without hurting their feelings?
